Shannon K's screen soundtrack work is easier to list than to judge. Between 2020 and 2025 she appeared in the credits of at least five Indian screen productions: two Himesh Reshammiya films, a ZEE5 series, a JioHotstar series and an Anupam Kher drama that premiered at Cannes. She also sang in, and played the lead in, a small 2023 release of her own, Chal Zindagi. On the side she recorded new versions of two older Hindi film songs. Every credit can be checked against at least one label, streaming or press record. In most of them, though, she is one of several credited voices, and no published soundtrack review discusses what she contributed. Here are the credits in order.

Happy Hardy and Heer (2020): 'Duggi'

Her first Hindi film credit came through Himesh Reshammiya, the composer and actor whose Happy Hardy and Heer was released on 31 January 2020. Spotify credits "Duggi" to Himesh Reshammiya, Navraj Hans, Raja Sagoo and Shannon K.

She called it her Bollywood debut in a June 2020 interview with YourStory's HerStory section. "It was an entirely new experience working in Bollywood," she said. "I was pretty nervous since I'm not really fluent in Hindi, but I somehow managed to understand the meaning of the song."

In later interviews she has said Reshammiya coached her pronunciation. "Himesh Reshammiya Sir helped me in pronunciation a lot as he gave me my first chance to sing in Hindi," she told the Times of India in 2026. "I had a very thick American accent so he kept correcting me in Hindi so I don't sound western."

The paper trail: streaming metadata and her own interview. No review of the soundtrack that mentions her was found.

The Casino (ZEE5, 2020): 'I Am the Queen'

A few months later she turned up on the soundtrack of The Casino, a 10-episode ZEE5 series directed by Hardik Gajjar and starring Karanvir Bohra, Sudhanshu Pandey and Mandana Karimi. On 21 May 2020 Expresso Magazine reported the release of a promotional song, "I Am the Queen," picturised on Karimi. It said the song "is sung by none other than Bhoomi Trivedi along with Shannon K," with lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed and music produced by Poonam, and that the series would premiere on ZEE5 on 12 June.

"I enjoyed singing for Zee5's web series The Casino too," she told YourStory.

The paper trail: one small outlet, which is the only press source found that names her, plus her own interview. A second song from the series is attributed to her only by a lyrics website and is left out.

Chal Zindagi (2023): songs for her own film

Her largest set of Hindi film vocals is on Chal Zindagi, Vivek Sharma's road film, released on 26 May 2023, in which she also played the female lead, Sana. When the first-look poster came out, the Times of India reported that she had "sung a song with her father for the film" and quoted her: "It's a bonus that I got to sing a song with Papa."

She gave more detail in a Rediff interview published on 26 May 2023. She said her songs in the film "were completely in Hindi." She also sang "a Rajasthani folk song, in the Marwari dialect," which she said was "a little challenge for me because I was struggling to pronounce that." She described the duet with Kumar Sanu as "a closing song," and said it was her director's idea to put him on it.

The only professional review found, Film Information's trade review, credits the music to The Lost Symbols and the lyrics to Vivek Sharma. It calls the music "fair" and says the "background music is not too impactful," but does not discuss individual singers. According to a Prokerala news report, Zee Music Company's official account shared a teaser on 26 April 2023.

'Jimmy Jimmy' (2024) and 'Tum Par Hum Hai Atke Yaara 2.0' (2025): two recreations

Strictly speaking, her 2024 "Jimmy Jimmy" is a single, not a soundtrack credit. It is a recreation of Bappi Lahiri's song from the 1982 film Disco Dancer, made with Lahiri's son, Bappa Lahiri. The Tribune announced it on 15 February 2024, and the Hindustan Times interviewed her about it on 24 February. On 8 March 2024 IANS reported that "the song is now out on Saregama." Apple Music lists the single as "℗ 2024 Saregama India Ltd.," and the official video is on the Saregama Music YouTube channel.

“"We were quite nervous since it was a huge risk. We knew that, therefore we made sure to keep its original soul as it is, with some minor changes, but still keeping true to its core." — Shannon K, to the Hindustan Times, 2024”

She told IANS she had met Bappi Lahiri at his birthday celebration, and that "he promised to call me soon for a song recording," before he fell ill. He died in 2022.

A second recreation came in December 2025: "Tum Par Hum Hai Atke Yaara 2.0," a duet with Kumar Sanu. T-Series lists it on its official website and credits Himesh Reshammiya and Sandeep Sulhan as music directors. Streaming metadata dates the release to 20 December 2025. No press coverage of it was found.

Badass Ravi Kumar (2025): 'Hookstep Hookah Bar'

Her second Reshammiya film was Badass Ravi Kumar, a retro action musical released in cinemas on 7 February 2025, according to an ANI report carried by ThePrint. "Hookstep Hookah Bar" came out on 17 January 2025. The credits published by Bollywood Hungama and MensXP list lead vocals by Himesh Reshammiya and Sunidhi Chauhan, and "English Vocals: Sunidhi Chauhan & Shannon K."

That is how her role should be described. "I've also sung for 'Badass Ravi Kumar' alongside Sunidhi Chauhan ma'am," she told India Today in May 2025. The published credits back that up, but they list her for the English vocal parts, not as a lead playback singer.

Tanvi The Great (2025): 'Different, But No Less'

Her most substantial soundtrack credit, and the one with the most coverage around it, is on Tanvi The Great. Anupam Kher directed the film, about a young autistic woman who wants to join the Indian Army, and M. M. Keeravani composed the score. It was released in Indian cinemas on 18 July 2025, after a world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival market in May, as India Today and Variety reported. According to Wikipedia's track listing, which cites JioSaavn, Zee Music Company released the soundtrack on 5 July 2025.

Track nine, "Different, But No Less" (2:33), credits Shannon K and Dirty Grim as both singers and lyricists. The album's other lyricist is Kausar Munir. JioSaavn lists Shannon K, Dirty Grim and Keeravani under "Music" for the track. Spotify and AllMusic credit her as a vocalist, and the MySwar database lists her as co-lyricist. Together, the sources show that she co-wrote and co-sang one English-titled track on an album whose other songs are sung by artists including Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Vishal Mishra and Keeravani himself.

She talked about it in the India Today interview published during the Cannes premiere. "I recently sang in 'Tanvi The Great', directed by the legendary Mr. Anupam Kher," she said, adding that working with Keeravani "was such an honour." She also said: "those opportunities came through effort. I had to meet people, pitch myself, and prove what I can do."

The film was reviewed widely in July 2025, by The Indian Express, The Hindu, the Hindustan Times, NDTV, Filmfare and The Hollywood Reporter India among others. None of the review excerpts consulted mentions her track.

Salakaar (JioHotstar, 2025): 'Balleya'

Her most recent screen credit found is on Salakaar, a five-episode spy series starring Naveen Kasturia and Mouni Roy that premiered on JioHotstar on 8 August 2025 (OTTplay). JioSaavn's listing for "Balleya (Salakaar Title Track)," 3 minutes 13 seconds long, names five singers: Shabbir Ahmed, Harmaan Nazim, Shannon K, Mellow D and Ajay Pal Sharma. Ahmed is credited as composer, and Ahmed and Sharma as lyricists. The track carries the notice "(P) 2025 Sony Music Entertainment India Pvt. Ltd. Under Exclusive License From Novi Digital Entertainment Pvt. Ltd."

The paper trail: streaming metadata only. No press report, review or interview connecting her to Salakaar was found.

The pattern in the credits

Taken together, the credits show a pattern. Her film work has come in small, specific parts: English vocals on a Hindi dance number, a featured voice alongside better-known singers, a co-written English-titled track on an orchestral soundtrack, and one of five voices on a series title song. A few collaborators recur. She has worked twice with Himesh Reshammiya, and Shabbir Ahmed is credited as lyricist on the Casino song and as composer on Salakaar. The work has gone out through several labels: Zee Music Company, Saregama, T-Series, Sony Music India and Himesh Reshammiya Melodies. No source found shows an exclusive contract with any of them.

Every credit here can be checked. What is missing is anyone's judgement of the work. No soundtrack review in a mainstream Indian outlet was found that names her or assesses her singing on these tracks, so the public picture of her film work comes from credits, label listings and her own interviews.
