The Bigg Boss 20 house has a new captain, and he got the job without winning a physical task. In Episode 34, which streamed on JioHotstar on October 9, 2026 and aired later on Colors TV, Love Gill used a special power to make Aasif Khan captain. The choice handed the house only part of its ration back and set off a fresh fight with Kanika Mann.
The episode was built around one decision. As Times Now and ABP Live reported, Love had earned a "vishesh adhikar" (special right) after winning Thursday's ration task, a power she bought by giving up almost the entire house ration in the previous episode. How Love Gill's captaincy ranking worked
Bigg Boss asked Love to rank the captaincy contenders in order of preference. According to Times Now's episode recap, she put herself at number one, Yung DSA second, Scout third and Arishfa Khan fourth. Aasif Khan was fifth, Uditi Singh sixth, and Kanika Mann seventh and last. Love said she ranked Kanika last because of Kanika's earlier remarks about her face.
Then came the twist. Bigg Boss linked every possible captain to a share of the house ration. If Kanika became captain, the house would get 35 percent of its ration back. If Aasif got the job, it would get 25 percent. If Love chose herself, the house would get nothing. Love passed on the captaincy and picked Aasif, and Bigg Boss declared him captain of the house. Why Kanika Mann called the decision selfish
The math was easy to read, and Kanika read it out loud. Picking her would have brought back 10 percentage points more ration than picking Aasif, so she accused Love of putting a personal grudge ahead of the whole house. JustShowBiz reported that Kanika taunted Love, saying the choice proved once again that she was "selfish." The two argued loudly until Aasif asked them both to stop.
Amrapali Dubey stepped in on Love's side. Times Now reported her saying that people who judge others by their faces do not deserve to be captain. Love replied, "Mai chahti thi aisa insaan aaye jiski nazar me sab khoobsurat ho," meaning she wanted a captain who sees everyone as beautiful.
The day had started badly too. Times Now reported that the wake-up song was Nagada Nagada, which Amrapali said was meant for Love. Love then went to Kanika's bed on her birthday with a sarcastic line about her own "badsurat chehra" (ugly face), and the two clashed before the task even began.
Aasif Khan's first night as captain
